EUROPEAN INVESTMENT IN U.S. WIRELESS INFRASTRUCTURE IN THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION
This alert (see attached Foreign Investment 5-19-25 PDF) accompanied the presentation delivered by Walt Sapronov of our Firm on May 11, 2025, at the Center for International Legal Studies (CILS) Conference, Vienna, Austria (see attached European Investment 5-8-25 PDF). The discussion is focused on European investment in U.S. wireless infrastructure in the current U.S. (“Trump 2.0”) Administration. With the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence (AI), internet of things (IOT) and similar technologies in the U.S. comes increasing demand for wireless spectrum, fiber, and data centers. All attractive investment opportunities for European investors – but they come with foreign entry barriers. Following the election of President Trump, these entry barriers have increased – and trade relationships between U.S. and European countries more complicated. How to navigate these entry barriers (and thus take advantage of these wireless investment opportunities) is the subject of this discussion.
